HOLLYWOOD DRIVING ACADEMY

School Policy

At Hollywood Driving Academy, we are dedicated to creating a safe, professional, and supportive environment for all students and staff. This policy outlines expectations, operational guidelines, and procedures to ensure an exceptional learning experience.

1. Code of Conduct

1.1 Respect for All

All students, coaches, and staff must treat one another with respect and professionalism. Discrimination, harassment, or aggressive behaviour is strictly prohibited.

1.2 Commitment to Excellence

Our coaches are committed to providing high-quality, patient, and effective driving instruction. Students are expected to actively engage in their learning process and approach lessons responsibly.

2. Scheduling and Payments

2.1 Lesson Booking

Lessons must be scheduled via text, email or in person.

2.2 Payment Policy

Payments must be paid in full before the first lesson or at the beginning of the first lesson.

3. Refund and Lesson Usage Policy

3.1 Refund Policy

All payments are final and non-refundable.

3.2 Lesson Usage Terms

  • Lesson packages must be used within 18 months of the purchase date. Unused lessons beyond this term will expire and cannot be redeemed.
  • Unused lessons may be transferred to another individual, provided they meet eligibility requirements (e.g., valid learner’s permit). Transferred lessons must also be used within the original 18 month term.

4. Attendance and Cancellations

4.1 Punctuality

Students and coaches are expected to arrive on time for scheduled lessons. Late arrivals may result in reduced lesson time.

4.2 Student Cancellations

Students must provide at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson without penalty. This allows us time to fill the slot with another student. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before the lesson will result in a $50 fee.

4.3 No-Shows

If a student fails to show up for their scheduled lesson without prior notice, the full lesson cost will be forfeited or charged.

4.4 Coach Cancellations

If a coach needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson:

  • The student will be notified as soon as possible.
  • The lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually convenient time.
  • If rescheduling is not possible, the student will receive a full refund for the cancelled lesson.

5. Student Responsibilities

5.1 Documentation

Students must bring a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license to every lesson.

5.2 Appropriate Attire

Students must wear safe footwear (e.g., closed-toe shoes) and dress comfortably for driving.

5.3 Focus and Readiness

Students must be prepared to focus and free of impairments, such as fatigue or substance use. Lessons may be cancelled if a student is deemed unfit to drive.

6. Coach Responsibilities

6.1 Professional Instruction

Coaches will provide clear, patient, and personalized guidance tailored to each student’s learning needs.

6.2 Vehicle Safety

Training vehicles will be well-maintained, fully insured, and equipped with dual controls to ensure safety during lessons.

7. Safety Policies

7.1 Adherence to Traffic Laws

Both students and coaches are required to follow all traffic laws during lessons.

7.2 Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, accident, or vehicle issue, the coach will manage the situation and report it as required by law and company policy.

7.3 Coaching Policy

  • Driving lessons are conducted one-on-one to ensure focused and personalized instruction.
  • At the Coach’s discretion, an additional person may be allowed in the vehicle if deemed appropriate.

8. Zero Tolerance Policy

8.1 Substance Use

Lessons will be cancelled immediately if a student or coach is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances.

8.2 Misconduct

Aggressive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour will result in the immediate termination of services without a refund.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

9.1 Data Protection

Personal information will be stored securely and handled in compliance with Canadian privacy laws. It will not be shared without consent.

9.2 Lesson Records

Lesson progress and feedback are confidential and shared only with the student or their legal guardian (if applicable).

10. Feedback and Dispute Resolution

10.1 Feedback Opportunities

We welcome feedback to continually improve our services.

10.2 Complaints

Complaints can be submitted via email. We aim to address and resolve concerns within 5 business days.

11. Policy Amendments
